Halsey’s Bluff is an alternative history about the battle of Midway.  In the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, in this version of history, Halsey doesn’t step down from command of carrier forces because of health issues and leads the force at Midway.  In this version of history the Japanese win and Halsey must fight with his every instinct and escape with what's left of the fleet with a darning maneuver.

It's endorsed and was reviewed by the Battle of Midway Roundtable for accuracy, and has an intro by the head of the BOMR.

Larry Schweikart, a former rock drummer who opened for "Steppenwolf," is a professor of history at the University of Dayton. In addition to some of the books mentioned here, he has authored over 50 academic articles, dozens of book reviews, and has been a regular guest on "Fox and Friends."
